KENTA MIYOSHI CAPTURES THE MISSOURI ONE-ON-ONE DOUBLES TITLE
Kenta Miyoshi, the #1 Singles player for the University of Illinois, won the 20 player One-On-One Doubles Tournament presented by Sunpointe Investments of St. Louis. Miyoshi defeated former ATP player and NCAA All-American, Jeffrey Schorsch, in the Final, 4-1.
Players came from 3 different states to compete.
“We had a great One-On-One Doubles Tournament event in St. Louis and our band, the Nick Schnebelen Band, from Kansas City, really rocked! Everyone was treated to a fabulous time”, said Ed Krass, Tournament Event organizer. Former St. Louis University Coach, from 2001-2019, Jon Zych, said ” What an awesome display of high level Serve-and-Volley Tennis and Live Rock N Roll Blues! The atmosphere was electric and very unique! All of my friends had a ball!”
This tournament guaranteed $3000 in Prize Money and was hosted at the Forest Lake Country Club in Chesterfield, Mo. All players competed in 5 groups of 4 players where they played in a round robin format up to the event’s knockout Quarterfinal Rounds. The event lasted 3.5 hours with Illinois’ Miyoshi crowned the Champion.
