DUKE’S TEDDY TRUWIT CAPTURES NEW ENGLAND ONE-ON-ONE DOUBLES TITLE

The Four Seasons Racquet Club, in Wilton, Ct, hosted the $2000 New England One-On-One Doubles Championships on Saturday, June 10th.

Players with ATP and College Tennis experience entered the tournament to compete in the event’s round robin format before the knockout rounds.

The tournament, and $1000 Winner’s check, was won by Duke’s premiere Doubles player, Teddy Truwit. Teddy, who was 2019 USTA National Doubles Finalist, defeated White Plains’ Callum Markowitz, 6-5(7-2) in the Final. Callum is rated #22 in the U.S. on TR.

Siena’s Agustin Suarez Espinoza placed third; Penn State’s Pranav Nemani placed 4th.

All the players and fans were treated to some rockin’ tunes, Pizza, Beer, Soft Drinks and snacks throughout the 3.5 hour event.
